The Premium Trains in India are high priority trains operated under the fast Express rail service by Indian Railways. Run to accommodate the traffic in the busiest routes, these trains are accorded the highest priority-even higher than what is given to Superfast and Mail/Express trains like Shatabdi Express, Duronto Express and Rajdhani Express. Another unique feature of the Premium Trains is that they have dynamic fare structure. Their ticket price varies according to booking rate and seat availability. First launched in late 2013 during the festive season of Christmas and New Year, premium train service in India started with the commencement of the Premium AC special train from Mumbai to Delhi. The resounding success of this train promoted the railway minister to announce five more such premium AC-special trains on busy routes. Suvidha Special, Gatimaan Express, JAT HWH Suvidha, DBG LTT SPL, and DURG NZM SPL are some of the popular premium trains that run in India.
